Wrestler of the Year 2017 | Veda Scott

As the year 2017 comes to an end the Squared Circle Sirens teams will be highlighting different wrestlers from across the globe that we feel have made an impact over the past 365 days! This isn’t a list or ranking of any sort, rather just a daily showcase of the wrestlers who made 2017 special in our eyes.

Heel Dennis may not be the biggest Veda Scott fan in the game, but Dennis surely is. And 2017 sure has been a hell of a year for Veda Scott. Let’s be clear, Veda Scott has been doing very well for herself in the independent scene for a few years now, but 2017 has surely shown to be an impressive year.

I honestly could write a novel on Veda Scott for just 2017 alone. Veda has been a staple for many independent promotions for most of the year. 2017 was the year Veda Scott was in a Spirit Championship Triple Threat for WSU, Two tag team tournament final rounds, including the WSU King/Queen tournament and the Love Cup for FEST wrestling. Veda has also been featured at WWR facing (and defeating) the likes of Laurel Van Ness, Alexis Rose, and Sonya Strong.

Veda has also been a staple for SHIMMER, including a notable feud with Ashley Lane, who many know as Madison Rayne, Through the SHIMMER volumes in July. Veda was also featured in the November volumes including having a Heart of SHIMMER title match against Shazza McKenzie and winning a fatal four-way match including Dust, Shotzi Blackheart, and Candice LeRae.

Veda also completed a lengthy tour of Europe, competing at just about every promotion there, including Pro Wrestling EVE, RevPro, WCPW, OTE and SWE.

Veda has also been featured prominently at NOVA Pro, being a part of a lengthy feud with Faye Jackson that has caught the eye of many, leading up to the ultimate culmination of a 5 on 5 Survivor Series match at Nova Pro in which she served as a captain of a team against Faye Jackson.

Put simply, Veda Scott’s character work is unparalleled, and her in-ring work continues to deliver in a way that forces the fans to be intrigued, excited, and interested to how Veda will sneak a win over. Veda Scott continues to be one that fans come out to see and if 2018 is anything like her 2017, Veda Scott will continue to be a mainstay for many independent promotions that we all love to watch.
