The latest and greatest in women's wrestling

Wrestler Of The Year 2017 | Shazza McKenzie

The land down under has continuously churned out major names in pro wrestling such as Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Madison Eagles, and of course, Shazza McKenzie.

Her 2016 started with a bang, winning the PWA Tag Team Titles alongside Big Fudge, defeating SMS in April of this year. However, that wasn’t the only taste of gold Shazza McKenzie got this year, having defeated then-champion Charli Evans and Harley Wonderland in a three-way match to capture the PWWA Women’s Championship for the second time in her career.

She was also apart of Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore Promotion’s debut in Australia where she faced off against Madison Eagles in the only women’s match on the card.

In the US, she returned to SHIMMER and defeated Nicole Savoy to become the new Heart of SHIMMER Champion during Volume 93. She went on to prove she has heart defeating anyone who challenged her from the likes of Nicole Matthews to Rosemary to Cheerleader Melissa to Kellyanne English, and many more! She also managed to fend off Thunder Rosa during her RISE Wrestling debut.

While she came up short she challenged Tessa Blanchard for the WrestleCircus Lady of The Ring Championship and most recently had a match against Toni Storm for the PROGRESS Women’s Championship.

There is no doubt about it that Shazza has become one of if not the biggest name in women’s wrestling in Australia. She’s won the hearts of fans across the globe and she’s had one hell of a year. She won not one, not two, but three belts in the space of 365 days! If her 2018 is anything like her 2017 it’s sure to be fantastic!
