Wrestler of the Year 2017 | Britt Baker

As the year 2017 comes to an end the Squared Circle Sirens teams will be highlighting different wrestlers from across the globe that we feel have made an impact over the past 365 days! Today we will be looking at Britt Baker!

It’s hard to deny someone who has made themselves undeniable. There are regularly eyes on Britt Baker and for good reason. No matter where Britt pops up, she puts herself in the spotlight and runs with every opportunity she gets.

Britt came into 2017 as the IWC women’s champion, and defeated the likes of Chelsea Green, Katie Arquette, Rachael Ellering and Penelope Ford before dropping the title to Lufisto to turn around and gain the title back in a three way also involving Ray Lynn.

2017 was also the SHIMMER debut for Britt picking up a win in a four way match involving Nevaeh, Veda Scott, and Samantha Heights. Britt has also primarily been a tag team wrestler with partner, Chelsea Green as the team Fire and Nice having two separate tag title matches for Shimmer.

Britt has also been a member of the Rise Roster competing in the Fire and Nice tag team as well as as a singles competitor defeating Chelsea Green and competing for the Rise of the Phoenix title at Rise 5.

Britt also returned to Women of Honor putting on a great match with WOH standout Deonna Purrazzo, and being a part of a 6 woman tag team match. Britt also captured the Wrestlecircus Tag Team Championships with Adam Cole prior to his reporting to NXT.

Britt has also been a long-term staple for AIW. Britt defeated Rebel with Gail Kim as the guest referee at Girls Night Out 19, competed in the JT Lightning Invitational Tournament and most recently defeated Swoggle and Faye Jackson at Absolution XII and Cold as Ice respectively.

2017 was a standout year for Britt Baker, keep in mind she is doing all of this while still finishing Dental School. Britt has all of the potential in the world and has just begun capitalizing. 2018 is bound to be the year of Britt Baker, and 2017 showed just the beginning of why she is a wrestler of the year.
