REVIEW: Royal Rumble 2015 – “A Bella Style Beatdown”

Hello everyone and welcome to the 2015 Royal Rumble Review. At the Royal Rumble we saw the Bella Twins team up to take on Natalya Neidhart and Paige who call themselves Black Hearts. What team scored the win at the pay per view? Let’s find out!

The Bella Twins make their way out to the ring first wearing matching green outfits, looking gorgeous I must say! Natalya is out next, sporting a new outfit. Paige joins her tag team partner on the stage and the duo heads towards the ring. Once inside the ring the bell rings and the match is underway… 1Paige and Nikki Bella start things off and Nikki takes advantage early on, knocking Paige with a series of strikes and kicks. Paige begins to fight back and catches Nikki with a knee, allowing her enough time to tag in her partner Natalya Neidhart. The Black Hearts get ahold of Nikki, performing a double snapper. Natalya goes for the cover but only gets a two. Natalya stays on Nikki, locking in a hammerlock as Nikki begins to get to her feet. Nikki manages to escape with a snapmare, tagging in Brie afterwards. Brie continues to work over the arm of Natalya, but Natalya stops her after a few moments, tagging in Paige once again. The duo performs an amazing double vertical suplex. Paige only gets a two count off the maneuver, much to her dismay.

Paige attacks Brie with her signature headsets and hits a running knee lift off the apron to Brie who was dropped on the rope. Paige tags Natalya back into the match and she targets Brie, lifting her up for a suplex but no… Brie slides off and hits a reverse DDT for a near fall. 2After the beating she took she tags Nikki back into the match. Brie hits a snapper on Natalya with Nikki quickly hitting a neck snap right afterwards. Nikki covers her but only gets a two count! Nikki brings Natalya back to her feet and she begins hitting forearms, trying to turn the momentum of the match. Nikki quickly puts a stop to it and beats Natalya to the mat. Nikki taunts Paige, by holding out Natalya’s hand, pretending that she’s going for a tag. Natalya fights her off and hits a snapper, taking Nikki off her feet. Nikki quickly gets back at Natalya, stopping her from tagging in Paige and goes for a pin. Natalya kicks out and Nikki tags in her sister Brie. Brie comes in with a double sledge, only for a near fall. Brie gets Natalya onto the bottom rope and connects with a hard running knee! Brie quickly covers but once again Natalya kicks out! Nikki tags back into the match and both sisters grab ahold of Natalya’s legs before rolling forward. 3

Nikki locks in a sleeper with scissors onto Natalya. Slowly but surely Natalya begins to show some life and uses her strength to lift Nikki up into an electric chair position on her shoulders only to fall back and drop her onto the mat. Both ladies are down! Nikki tries to roll Natalya up but Natalya grabs her and goes for the sharpshooter but has no luck! Nikki pushes her away with her feet and tries to attack Natalya in the corner but she fights her off. On the apron Brie goes to attack but Natalya quickly takes care of her. Nikki Irish whips Natalya into the opposing corner and charges forward but collides with the turnbuckle. Natalya tries to go to Paige for a tag, but just as she goes to tag her Brie grabs Paige and tosses her off the ring apron, colliding jaw first with the edge of the ring. Natalya gets to her feet in the ring and turns right into a staff forearm from Nikki Bella that scores the win!

I thought this was a perfectly fine match. Was it anything special? No, but it was a solid match even if it was mostly one sided. With the reports of Nikki Bella being injured I was glad to see her actually participate in this match. I was originally thinking the match was made a tag match due to that but she seemed to not be missing a step inside the ring. I wasn’t a big fan of Paige only being in the match briefly but hopefully something happens on RAW tonight that creates tension between Paige and Natalya. I’d love to see a triple threat or fatal four way for the title at Fast Lane next month.
