The latest and greatest in women's wrestling

One To Watch 2018 | Kylie Rae

If you are a fan of women’s independent wrestling, probably independent wrestling in general, there is no way you have not heard of Kylie Rae.   Smiley Kylie has an infectious personality that gets over with the crowd instantly.

Kylie Rae burst onto the Texas independent wrestling scene in a big way.  In her debut match, where she captured the Reality of Wrestling Diamond Division championship from Ivory Robyn.  In her first run with the Diamond Division Title, she defeated Jada Keys, Kiera Hogan, and former champion Ivory Robyn before losing the belt to Jada Keys.  She regained the title later in 2016 making her the first woman to hold the Diamond Division title on two occasions.  She ended 2016, her first year as an active wrestler, with the title.  During her second run with the belt, Kylie put away former champions Jada Keys and Ivory Roby, Hyan and Kayla Lynn before eventually losing the belt to Lynn.  In both of her title reigns, Kylie held the belt for almost 400 days.

Outside of ROW, Kylie made her debut in the RISE promotion at Rise 5: Rising Sun.  While she lost to former Heart of Shimmer Champion and now Shimmer Champion Nicole Savoy, Kylie impressed enough that she earned a spot on the permanent RISE roster.  Later that weekend, Kylie wrestled two dark matches for Shimmer.  The first a tag team match where she and Miranda Salinas defeated Karen Q and Ray Lynn and then a singles match where she lost to Heather Monroe.  At RISE 6: Brutality, Kylie had an incredible match with Deonna Purrazzo.  During the show, Kylie was one of five members of the RISE roster that was brought to ringside for the announcement that RISE would be traveling to Japan for an event copromoted with Stardom at Korakuen Hall in the summer of 2018.

Another promotion that Kylie has wow’d the crowd with Freelance Wrestling.  In 2017, Kylie has challenged for three different titles.  She challenged Su Yung for the FEST Wrestling Women’s title in a triple threat match with Akane Fujita.  She participated in a fourway for the Resistance Pro Wrestling Women’s Title, held by Rachael Ellering.  The match was won by Holidead and also included Akane Fujita.  She later challenged Holidead for the Resistance Pro title, which can be seen on Youtube.  Along with GPA, she also challenged Team BETA for the Freelance Wrestling Tag Team Titles.

In other promotions, Kylie and GPA defeated Superiority Complex to win the Freelance Underground Tag Team titles.  She was one of 12 women to participate in a tournament to crown the inaugural women’s champion.  During the first round, she defeated Su Yung.  In the second round, she was defeated by Rachel Ellering.  In Sabotage Wrestling, Kylie made debut against former champion Delilah Doom and has been announced for War of the Genders 2 to take on her tag team partner GPA.

Less than two years into the business, Kylie Rae has taken the wrestling world by storm.  She is being booked all over the country.  She is winning belts that are traditionally held by men.  She has accomplished more in two years than another independent wrestler has accomplished in five.  2018 is going to be a huge year for Kylie Rae, just wait and see.
