King Reina defeated Lei’D Tapa via unanimous decision at today’s RIZIN FF 6 event this morning.
The fight was a back-and-forth war with Tapa getting the upper hand on the feet, whilst Reina completely controlled things when she managed to take it to the ground. Ultimately the judges felt Reina’s groundwork made more of an impact than Tapa’s stand-up according to WMMA Rankings.
Tapa falls to 0-2-0 in her MMA career. She made her professional MMA debut back in December 2015 when she took part in the first ever mainstream women’s heavyweight fight, losing out to Gabi Garcia by way of a first round TKO.
Tapa recently appeared on NXT TV this past week, losing to Ember Moon in a singles match. Tapa was one of the 36 women who underwent medical testing to possibly take part in WWE’s Mae Young Classic that was filmed on July 13th and 14th at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
