Former TNA Knockout receives WWE tryout

We can confirm that one of the names involved at the WWE tryouts taking place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week is former TNA Knockout Lei’D Tapa.

The 34 year old Tongan independent wrestler debuted for TNA Wrestling in 2013 taking part in the company’s Gut Check challenge, winning a contract with the company after wrestling Ivelisse Velez. In 2014 she left the company after having a short run as Gail Kim’s bodyguard.

On November 6, 2015, it was announced during Bellator 145 that Tapa would face Gabrielle Garcia in an event for Rizin Fighting Federation on December 31, 2015. She trained for the event at American Top Team gym in Florida. Garcia defeated Tapa in the first round by TKO.

She is one of the 42 names involved in this weeks WWE tryouts.

If she gets sign by the WWE that she will be the third woman from the Samoan race to be on the roster. Since the WWE has sign Andrea formerly known as Rosie Lottalove and Thea Trinidad has shows up twice on NXT that things are looking might brighter than it was when they were in TNA, give it sometime for the WWE to sign Thea Trinidad to a contract.
