2015 Fan Awards: NZ/Australian Female Wrestler of The Year – Evie

2015 is in the bag and over the last few weeks we polled our readers on who they thought were the best in 2015. The polls have been closed and the votes have been tallied! Who won? Let’s find out!

Australia and New Zealand has given us many talented female wrestlers and 2015 seemed to be quite the year for the women wrestlers from down under. WWE hired Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, Kellyanne English had a breakout preformance at SHIMMER, and Madison Eagles ended the year as SHIMMER Champion. While they all had a good year you viewers voted Evie as the New Zealand/Australian Female Wrestler of The Year.

It’s no surprise that Evie got a whopping amount of votes (56% to be exact) in the polls. She made 2015 her year. During 2015 Evie not only made it to the finals of SHIMMER’s first ever ChickFight Tournament but she also recaptured the IPW NZ Women’s Championship, if only for a day.

Evie fended of Kellie Skater in a series of brutal matches in MCW, managed to become the number one contender to the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship along with Heidi Lovelace, and even managed to appear on NXT TV!

Evie had a great year but she ended it with a bang, capturing the STARDOM Artist of STARDOM title in Japan alongside Hiroyo Matsumoto and Kellie Skater in her first ever match with the promotion.

Evie’s star constantly is on the rise and 2016 seems to be looking like the biggest year of her career. With breakout performances in every promotion she’s in it’s only a matter of time before Evie captures some more gold.
